As a general policy, students are not permitted to switch from an online programme to an on-site programme, unless exceptional circumstances apply. In such cases, the following process applies:
-
Application Process: Students seeking to switch to an on-site programme must submit a request through the Admissions Department. This department will review the application based on available space at the preferred campus and assess the student’s eligibility to transfer on a case-by-case basis.
-
Space Availability: Admission to the on-site programme is contingent upon space availability at the desired campus location. If no space is available, the student may continue their studies in the current online format or wait until the next on-site cohort intake, should space be confirmed by that time.
-
Approval and Next Steps:
- Admissions Review: The Admissions Department holds full discretion on whether to approve the transfer. If accepted, the student will join the next on-site cohort intake, which aligns with their point of progress.
- Administration Fee: The transfer will incur a mandatory administration fee of R2,500. Any additional tuition fees related to the switch (if applicable) must be settled before the transfer is finalized.
-
Switching Between Full-Time and Part-Time:
- Students may request to switch from full-time to part-time or vice versa. However, this must be done within the first 30 days of the programme.
- The switch will also incur an R2,500 administration fee, and any difference in tuition fees will be handled according to our Refund Policy. For more expensive options, the student is required to pay the difference before beginning the new study mode.
-
Switching Between Subjects:
- Students can apply to switch subjects (e.g., from Data Science to Software Engineering) if the request is made at least five working days before the programme start date.
- The switch requires a R2,500 administration fee, and any change in tuition fees will be adjusted accordingly. Students on monthly installment plans will incur an additional fee, equivalent to 50% of the support cost for one month if switching after the programme has started.
-
Loan-Assisted Students:
- Students funded through a loan program have up to 10 working days after the start date to request a switch between modes (e.g., online to on-site, or part-time to full-time).
- The switch request will be processed after payment of the R2,500 administration fee.
Please note that no switching requests are permitted once the Full Stack Web Developer and Software Engineer bootcamp has begun. Exceptions may only be made five days before the bootcamp’s start date.
Switch requests are evaluated individually, and HyperionDev reserves the right to determine final decisions regarding all transfer and switch requests.
