What does attendance entail?
At HyperionDev, we believe attendance is more than just "showing up" - it's about staying actively engaged in your learning journey. Our flexible, virtual bootcamps are designed to fit your lifestyle, making it possible to achieve your goals while managing other responsibilities.
What does attendance mean?
In a virtual learning environment, attendance isn’t limited to logging hours. It encompasses your commitment to:
- Engaging with resources on the Student Dashboard, including tutorials and project guides.
- Participating in one-on-one mentor sessions for feedback, guidance, and support.
- Joining optional live events, webinars, or career workshops that enrich your experience.
- Progressing through your bootcamp tasks at a steady and sustainable pace.
Attendance is about creating momentum and consistency in your learning process - key factors in developing industry-ready skills.
Recommended time commitment
To maximise your learning potential:
- Full-time students are encouraged to dedicate 30–40 hours per week to their studies.
- Part-time students are encouraged to aim for 8–12 hours per week.
This is not a strict requirement but a guideline based on student success data. You’re encouraged to work at a pace that suits you while aligning with your overall bootcamp timeline. If you’re ahead of schedule or need adjustments, your mentor will help you develop a tailored plan.
Our approach to attendance
We understand that life doesn’t always follow a predictable schedule. That’s why we focus on progress, not penalties. Here’s how we support you:
- Mentor guidance: Weekly check-ins with your mentor ensure you’re on track, provide personalised feedback, and help you overcome challenges.
- Student Support Coaches: Your dedicated coach is available for one-on-one consultations to discuss study strategies, address barriers, and assist with goal-setting.
- Transparent progression tracking: Your dashboard provides clear insights into your task completion rate, helping you visualise your progress in real-time.
What happens if you fall behind?
If challenges arise, we’re here to help. Regular communication from our Support Team ensures that any obstacles are addressed early. If your progress slows:
- Student Success Team assistance: Our dedicated team will provide additional guidance and resources to help you regain momentum and achieve your goals.
- Student Support Coach bookings: Schedule sessions with our Student Support Coaches for help with onboarding, Learning Management System navigation, operational queries, and progression management.
- 1:1 Mentor calls: Book personalised mentor sessions to discuss strategies, receive tailored content support, and create an actionable plan to catch up.
We understand that every learner is unique, so we work with you to explore solutions tailored to your circumstances. Whether it’s time management tips, additional resources, or even a temporary pause, we’re committed to keeping you on the path to success.
Your role in staying on track
As a student, your primary responsibility is to maintain steady progress and stay in touch with your mentor. Open communication is key. If you anticipate needing more time for a specific task or encounter unexpected challenges, let us know as soon as possible. We’ll work together to create a plan that suits your needs.
Remember, your bootcamp journey is a partnership—we provide the tools, resources, and support, while you bring the determination and commitment to succeed.
