At HyperionDev, our goal is to help every student succeed in their bootcamp and prepare for a career in tech. However, to maintain a high standard of education and ensure fairness and integrity, we enforce specific policies regarding academic progress, attendance, grading, and ethical conduct. Disenrollment occurs when a student is removed from their bootcamp due to a failure to meet these essential requirements or adhere to our terms and conditions.
Disenrollment means that a student is no longer able to access bootcamp resources, mentor sessions, or the student dashboard, effectively ending their enrollment in the course. It is important to note that disenrollment does not automatically qualify a student for a refund. We have a structured refund policy in place, aligned with the circumstances detailed in our terms and conditions, which will determine if any refund is payable following disenrollment. For specific refund eligibility, students can refer to our disenrollment policy in clause 2.7 of our terms and conditions.
Why Might a Student Be Disenrolled?
Disenrollment is an action taken only when a student has not met certain critical standards. Here are some of the key factors that may lead to disenrollment:
-
Attendance Requirements: Regular participation is essential for mastering the material, engaging in practice, and progressing steadily through the bootcamp. Failing to meet attendance requirements may indicate a lack of commitment to completing the course.
-
Course Progression Standards: Students are expected to advance through their bootcamp at a reasonable pace. Failure to keep up with assignments, projects, or assessments may lead to intervention and, ultimately, disenrollment if improvement is not seen.
-
Grading Standards: Each bootcamp includes grading standards that students must meet to demonstrate proficiency in the skills being taught. Consistently failing to achieve passing grades on assignments or assessments indicates a struggle to meet academic expectations, which could result in disenrollment.
-
Plagiarism and Academic Integrity: Integrity is a foundational principle in our bootcamp. Engaging in plagiarism or academic misconduct, such as submitting work that isn’t your own, is a serious violation of our policies. Our goal is to ensure that students complete the bootcamp with a true understanding of coding principles and the ability to succeed independently in the tech field.
-
Adherence to Terms and Conditions: All students agree to abide by our terms and conditions upon enrollment. Violations of these terms, whether related to behavior, ethical conduct, or use of bootcamp resources, may result in disenrollment.
How Can You Avoid Disenrollment?
To make the most of your bootcamp experience and avoid disenrollment, students are expected to actively engage with the curriculum and adhere to the following:
-
Maintain Consistent Attendance: Regularly attending scheduled sessions, whether they are mentor meetings, live sessions, or workshops, is crucial for your progress and overall success.
-
Stay on Track with Course Progression: Complete assignments, exercises, and projects within the designated timelines to ensure you’re developing the skills and knowledge necessary for graduation. If you encounter difficulties, reach out for support as early as possible.
-
Achieve Minimum Grading Requirements: Aim to meet or exceed the minimum grading requirements on each assignment. Utilize feedback from mentors to improve your work and deepen your understanding of key concepts.
-
Uphold Academic Integrity: Complete your work honestly and independently. If you’re unsure about a task, seek guidance from mentors rather than resorting to external sources or unauthorized help. Academic integrity not only ensures you learn effectively but also prepares you to succeed in real-world scenarios.
-
Follow Terms and Conditions: Familiarize yourself with our terms and conditions, especially sections regarding conduct and academic expectations. These terms are in place to foster a respectful and productive learning environment for everyone.
What Happens If Disenrollment Occurs?
If a student fails to meet the above standards even after interventions, disenrollment may be necessary. This step is taken seriously and only after reasonable efforts have been made to support the student’s success. If a student is disenrolled, they will no longer have access to course materials, mentorship, or other bootcamp resources.
For any questions regarding our policies, including the details of our refund policy and eligibility in case of disenrollment, we encourage students to review clause 2.7 in our terms and conditions or reach out to our support team for guidance.
Our aim is always to help students overcome challenges and succeed, but adherence to these policies is crucial for everyone’s success in the bootcamp.
