What Does Attendance Entail?
Attendance in your bootcamp means the time you dedicate, either onsite or on our online platform, to ensure consistent progress in your studies. It’s essential for both your learning journey and successful course completion.
Attendance for Online Programs
In online bootcamps, attendance includes:
- Actively participating on our education support platforms.
- Submitting tasks regularly via the student dashboard.
- Joining scheduled online mentor calls, tutorials, and work sessions.
Our platform automatically records attendance by tracking login times and online session sign-ins.
Attendance for Onsite Programs
Onsite attendance is tracked by our lecturers and mentors, who take attendance at each class or workshop. This helps us ensure that students are meeting in-person learning commitments.
Recommended Study Hours
For optimal progress, we recommend the following study hours based on your enrollment status:
Mode | Onsite | Online |
---|---|---|
Full-Time | 10:00-16:00, Mon-Fri at campus (40+ hours/week) | Minimum 40 hours per week |
Part-Time | 17:00-19:00, Tue-Thu at campus (10+ hours/week) | Minimum 10 hours per week |
However, we understand that some students may progress more quickly than others. If you find that you’re advancing ahead of schedule, please discuss this with your mentor to document your status on your student profile. Conversely, if you’re behind, adhering to the recommended study hours is essential to catch up and avoid any risk of disenrollment.
Risk of Disenrollment
Maintaining consistent attendance is critical. Students may be at risk of disenrollment if they fall into any of the following categories:
- Onsite Students: Attendance falls below 80% over a month or if they are absent without valid reason for three consecutive days without communication regarding potential extenuating circumstances.
- Low-Scoring Tasks: If a student is unwilling to resubmit a task that scores below 75%, or resubmits without implementing recommended changes.
- Missed Check-In Calls: Missing a pre-scheduled check-in for installment payment or missing two or more scheduled calls with a mentor.
For more information on disenrollment policies, please refer to Clause 2.7 in the Disenrollment Policy.
Our Responsibility: Supporting Your Attendance
Our Education Team is dedicated to your success. We motivate and support students every step of the way, but attendance remains a personal responsibility.
Each week, mentors will check in with students to ensure engagement. If attendance is poor for a week, the mentor will discuss this directly with the student and document it on their file. Should attendance issues persist into a second week, the matter will be referred to Student Success, and the Student Progression Associate (SPA) will reach out to the student for a discussion. If a student has a sponsor, they will be notified of the situation as well.
With renewed commitment, the SPA will refer the matter back to the Education Team, and the mentor will continue working closely with the student to ensure they remain on track. Regular updates will be shared with the SPA (and the sponsor if applicable) to support the student’s progress.
Student Responsibility: Staying On Track
Students are expected to maintain the recommended attendance according to their study mode. If unable to attend, students (or their sponsors) must communicate directly with their mentor.
If unforeseen circumstances require you to pause your studies, please follow the official pause request process. Consistent weekly check-ins with your mentor are essential, and students should notify mentors of any planned absences.
Catch-Up and Student Success Support
If a student’s progression rate falls below the required threshold, the mentor will reach out to determine the reason and provide appropriate support. In cases of no activity or attendance for over two weeks, the matter will be escalated to Student Success for additional intervention.
For any questions or concerns about attendance, feel free to reach out to your mentor or the support team. Your commitment to regular attendance is a key component of your success in the bootcamp, and we’re here to help every step of the way.
