Our lectures, mentor sessions, dashboard and task submissions are designed to be accessible across a wide range of devices and internet connections.
We do not require students to have high-speed internet or advanced hardware.
Internet Requirements 🛜
A stable internet connection is recommended for:
- Live lectures on Google Meet
- Mentor sessions and calls
- Accessing the student dashboard
- Viewing tasks and learning material
- Uploading submissions to GitHub
There is no minimum internet speed requirement, but unstable connections may affect:
- Video playback quality
- Audio clarity during lectures
- File upload times
- Screen sharing during mentor calls
If your connection is unstable:
- Turn off other streaming services or downloads.
- Move closer to your Wi-Fi router if possible.
- Use audio-only mode during calls when necessary.
- Rejoin the meeting if disconnected.
Browser Requirements
Students may use:
- Google Chrome (recommended)
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari
- Firefox
Your browser should be updated regularly for compatibility and security.
Device Requirements 💻
Students should have access to:
- A laptop or desktop computer
- For students on coding bootcamps: a device capable of running Visual Studio Code (VS Code)
-
Sufficient RAM to comfortably run:
- VS Code
- A browser
- Google Meet simultaneously
For coding bootcamps, a device with at least 8GB RAM is recommended for a smoother experience.
GitHub Requirements 📵
All submissions and reviews are managed through GitHub. Students should be able to:
- Access GitHub through a browser
- Upload and manage repositories
- Clone repositories locally
- Push updates and submissions
Non-Coding Bootcamps 📚
For non-coding bootcamps:
- Tasks and resources may be viewed on Notion
- Final submissions are still completed through GitHub
Students should ensure they can access both platforms from their device.
